Extension: bration-extension • Last updated: August 1, 2026
Summary: This extension blocks ads and trackers directly on your device.
It does not collect, store, sell, or transmit your personal data, browsing history,
or activity to any external server. All filtering and settings data stays on your
own computer.
1. What this extension does
bration-extension blocks advertisements, trackers, and third-party requests as you browse,
and unwraps AMP redirect links to take you directly to the original page. It provides a
dashboard where you can view how many ads/trackers were blocked per site, manage custom
filter rules, and turn protection on or off for specific domains.
2. Information we do not collect
We do not collect, transmit, sell, or share any of the following:
Personally identifiable information (name, email, address, etc.)
Browsing history or the list of websites you visit
Authentication credentials, passwords, or account information
Financial or payment information
Health information
Personal communications (emails, chats, messages)
Location data
Keystrokes, clicks, or other user activity monitoring
3. What is stored, and where
The extension uses the browser's local storage API to save your preferences
entirely on your own device. This includes:
Whether protection is enabled or disabled for specific websites
Your custom filter list rules, if you've added any
Local block-count statistics shown in the dashboard (e.g., "12 trackers blocked on this site")
None of this data leaves your device. It is never uploaded to us or to any third party,
and we have no servers that receive or store this information.
4. Permissions we use, and why
webNavigation — to detect page loads and unwrap AMP redirect URLs.
tabs — to identify the active tab so per-site statistics and the dashboard can work correctly.
storage — to save your settings and filter rules locally on your device.
cookies — to read Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals and respect your opt-out preferences.
privacy — to align blocking behavior with your existing browser privacy settings.
alarms — to periodically refresh filter list rules on a schedule.
webRequest / declarativeNetRequest / declarativeNetRequestFeedback — to identify and block requests to known ad and tracker domains, and to show accurate block counts.
Host permissions (all sites) — ads and trackers can be served from any domain, so the extension needs to evaluate network requests across all websites you visit in order to block them.
5. Third parties
We do not sell, rent, or transfer your data to any third party. We do not use your data
for advertising, profiling, credit, or lending purposes. The extension does not load or
execute remote code — all filtering logic ships inside the extension package itself.
6. Data retention and deletion
Since all data is stored locally on your device, you can delete it at any time by removing
the extension from your browser or clearing its local storage. We retain nothing on our end
because nothing is sent to us.
7. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the "last updated" date at the top of this page will be revised.
Continued use of the extension after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the
updated policy.
